This years trip for MYP1 – 3 was to the Belgium Ardennes. Cloaked in absolutely beautiful hot, sunny, blue-sky weather we spent three days exploring some experiences which were new to many of the students. As we were by the beautiful river “the Amblève”, we made good use of it – wading through it on foot, ziplining across it at high speeds, kayaking down it…… The students faced the challenges oftrecking up around the steep hillsides alongside the river, climbing through challenging obstacles, and enjoying the liberating feelings of mud slides. Students carried out activities like raft building and archery, climbing almost vertical rock faces and abseiling, mountain biking and exploring immensely old caves. These trips bring out the best in students and it is always great to discover talents they have that come out in situations like this – team spirit, ability to persevere, helpfulness and kindness to others during difficult moments, tree climbing skills to rescue frisbees, to name but a few…..
A good time was had by everyone! All I can say is that I am already looking forward to the next trip!
