MYP4&5 recently attended a talk by an old TTO/DP pupil, Beni Halmos who is currently studying medical science at the University of Groningen. The talk was very informative, not only for those wishing to study medical science but also for those who are looking to apply to competitive courses such as medicine in The Netherlands.
Beni described what Groningen is like: both the town and his day-to-day life as a student at the University. He gave details about settling in, as well as how to make full use of the opportunities provided by the careers department at ISG in order to prepare for and earn a place at such an institution.
Beni was very kind, down-to-earth, and aware of his audience, keeping the atmosphere light and easy. His talk and his relatable character helped pupils to consider “going to university as a real choice, not just a dream.”
