During the introduction days under the instruction of ‘Kunst in de Aula’ the students collaborated on the creation of a large swallow flying into the school and a set of three lingo lamps expressing words linked to the IB learner profile.
The students worked in their mentor groups on this creative, team building exercise
The reason for these artworks were to tie in the identity of the international school within in this building. The artwork that was created combines with and enhances the original artwork that already exists on the main wall. The wings of the bird have been positioned to move through into the school highlighting the wings in the artwork and the key colours can be seen in the lettering of the lingo lamps. Words such as unique, energy, united, happy and inspire to name but a few can be seen as they are highlighted alternately within the lamps.
As an extra creative task every student has created their own bird in flight on transparent acetate to represent who they are as they move through the school. These will be hung in flocks around the main areas of the school over the coming weeks.
Extremely positive feedback from the workshop leaders and staff with huge compliments to all of the students as they were simply BRILLIANT!
