Last Thursday, the 30th of March, at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen prizes were awarded to the best profielwerkstukken in the country. Each year the university hosts a contest, looking for the best essays/projects in three different categories: Social sciences & the Arts, the Sciences and Economics & humanities.
More than 200 students from all over the Netherlands sent their profielwerkstukken in, but only 15 were shortlisted, three in each category. Amongst those 15 was Nova Zuiderberg, DP2, who was nominated for the Marie Lokeprijs, the prize for Social sciences and the Arts. Although Nova’s essay on bilingualism did not win, we are extremely proud of this nomination and Nova’s essay was said to be part of 5 from which it was extremely hard to pick a winner. Nova afterwards said that more DP students should give this a shot, because it is well worth the experience and that it gives you a real sense of accomplishment.
